Every year, we journey to a different locale for the annual FileMaker developer & user conference, DevCon. Each year is jam-packed with informative sessions, groundbreaking innovations, engaged partners and a gaggle of developers eager to share with and learn from each other. This year's conference in Orlando was no different... except it was.
This year's conference kicked off with the major announcement that FileMaker (the company) was re-branding itself as Claris and expanding. The name will be familiar to many, as it was the company's original name back in the 80s. While FileMaker (the platform) will retain its name, it joins Claris Connect (formerly Stamplay) and future acquisions as properties of the new parent company. You can read more information about the changes in this CNBC interview with Claris CEO Brad Freitag.
Stay tuned here for more exciting announcements.
